Next Generation Cancer Diagnostics: The Role Of Liquid Biopsy

Página Inicial > NOTICIAS > Next Generation Cancer Diagnostics: The Role Of Liquid Biopsy

Traditionally, detecting and monitoring cancer has relied on tissue biopsies, but these procedures can be invasive, risky, and sometimes not possible, especially for tumors deep within the body. For example, taking samples from organs like the lungs or liver can be very challenging.

However, very small traces of cancer-related genetic material, known as circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA), can be found in the bloodstream. Detecting these tiny amounts requires highly sensitive tests to accurately identify cancer. Liquid biopsy takes advantage of this by using a simple blood test to detect and monitor ctDNA, offering a less invasive alternative to traditional biopsies.

The advantages of liquid biopsy make it particularly compelling:

At DNA GTx, we offer liquid biopsy panels for Colorectal, Breast, and Lung cancer, including the comprehensive TruSight Oncology 500 gene panel. These solutions provide a more personalised treatment plan by tailoring clinical decisions to each patient’s unique genetic profile.

Ultimately, our mission at DNA GTx is to develop and deliver precision diagnostics that improve patient outcomes and help save lives.
